Mehmet Tarakcıoglu is a Senior Programme Support Specialist in FAO Turkey Representative since 2020. He has been working as a Country Programme Coordinator. Previously, he started to works in Public Services as a European Union Assistant Expert in the Ministry of Industry and Trade in times then, he joined to the Undersecretary of State Planning Organization of the Prime Ministry and served as Planning Expert between 1998-2004; then as the Head of Department for Agriculture in the same Agency and then in the Ministry of Development between 2005-2012. He also worked as a coordinator for agriculture in the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation embedded in the Ministry of Development between 2016-2018. He also served in the Special Bureau of the President of Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, as a IP expert, (TURKPATENT) between 2018-2019.
Mehmet took his Undergraduate Degree of MSc in METU Food Engineering in Ankara, Turkey and also completed two graduate programmes, MA in International Economics from Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey and MSc in Agriculture, Environment & Development Economics from Ohio State University in Columbus, USA.
